RISEO Emergency Fuel Program: This state program offers emergency assistance to households that are experiencing an energy-related crisis.

Good Neighbor Energy Fund: The Good Neighbor Energy Fund is available to any Rhode Islander who, because of temporary financial difficulty, cannot meet a month’s energy expense and has not qualified for or received other energy assistance funds.

Keep the Heat On: The Archdiocese of Providence sponsors the “Keep the Heat On” Challenge, which helps heat the homes of those who have exhausted all other public and private resources and with no place left to turn for assistance with their heating bills.

National Grid Assistance: This program provides a discount rate for low-income households.

Weatherization Assistance Program: The Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) provides a comprehensive and technical energy audit on low/moderate income dwellings. As a result of this audit cost effective, energy efficient conservation measures are installed while ensuring the health and safety of people served. The program is delivered statewide by seven Community Action Programs (CAP). Those who qualify should contact the CAP that services their town.

National Grid Appliance Management Program: An energy manager from a local Community Action agency can analyze the home appliances of low-income customers, indicating how much each appliance costs to operate and how much savings could be achieved.

Heating System Repair or Replacement Program: This program assists owner-occupied low- and moderate-income households with major repairs and/or the replacement of their boiler/furnace. This program is designed to increase the boiler/furnaces heating efficiency and to ensure the health and safety of the household occupants. Clients must be income eligible and pre-approved by their local Community Action Program (CAP Agency) in order to be applicable for this program.
