Kitchen Sink

Your Question– “I have tried everything with my kitchen sink. Draino, CLR, everything. Every time I wash dishes or anything it backs up into both sinks and causes a nasty, smelly mess. I completely tore apart all of PVC piping and it was all clear. When I disconnected the PVC from the galvanized steel that used to be there it had a black junk to it and smelt terrible. I have some plumbing experience from doing remodeling on houses. Please help me. It’s becoming a terrible problem that I have to deal with every day.”
Our Answer In our opinion, we recommend snaking the galvanized section of pipe and then reconnect your piping and install a pop vent under the kitchen sink. It sounds like the kitchen sink may not be vented properly.
